The story of how a frustration with fragmented payment stacks and gross revenue taxes led us to engineer the unified payment infrastructure for modern software.
Maxint began as an engineering team building high-performance, cross-platform software. Like thousands of developers worldwide, we loved the promise of the modern cross-platform stack: write your core application once using React Native, Flutter, Tauri, or C++, and ship seamlessly to iOS, Android, macOS, Windows, and Linux.
However, the moment we tried to implement paid subscriptions across platforms, that cross-platform dream shattered into a fragmented nightmare.
When we evaluated existing subscription wrapper SDKs like RevenueCat and Adapty, we discovered another major problem: the gross revenue tax.
Legacy payment wrappers charge an extra 1% gross revenue cut on top of Apple and Google's 15%–30% store fees. As an app scales to $50,000 or $200,000 in Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR), developers end up paying $1,000 to $4,000 every single month just for webhook forwarding and database checks.
OUR BELIEF
"Infrastructure should be priced like infrastructure: predictable, transparent, and flat. Evaluating whether a user has an active subscription takes 0.001ms of server time regardless of whether the plan costs $5/mo or $500/yr. You should never be penalized for your own growth."
In 2026, we built Orca to solve these fundamental flaws once and for all:
100% predictable flat monthly tiers ($0 Free Developer tier, $299 Flat Pro tier). Scale your MRR without percentage penalties.
First-class native SDKs for iOS, Android, Stripe Web, GoCardless Bank Direct Debit, macOS, Windows, and Linux.
Distributed global edge gateways evaluate customer entitlements in sub-10ms with zero main-thread UI blocking.
Built-in Model Context Protocol (MCP) server enables AI agents to query customer subscriptions and manage entitlements safely.
At Maxint, we operate on four fundamental engineering principles:
Orca is built and maintained by Maxint, an independent software engineering organization dedicated to developer infrastructure.
Headquarters: Distributed Global Engineering Team
